Dear Peltify users,
Three weeks of testing on staging went into this one. Most of it is the chat and the player, the first run for a new account, and the site's own pages.
Chat
- Open peltify.com/chat and ask. No account needed to try it.
- Every pick is checked against a real catalogue before you see it. One that could not be checked in time says Unconfirmed.
- While it works, a row shows each step: your ask, your shelf, the catalogues, the picks.
- Song rounds are faster: the catalogue's own list no longer waits on the model.
- Picks come one at a time. The arrows loop back to the start.
- Answer in one tap: Want it, Not for me, or Seen it, Heard it, Read it. Open on, Add to queue and Chat sit above them.
- Steer in your own words, like "less rap, more instrumental", and the chat says it back.
- Fold the cards away and the chat sums up what you liked and asks where next.
- A typo still finds what you meant.
- At the end of the day's picks, the chat says Usage limit hit, and when they come back.
The player
- Songs play in full, in a bar that stays while you move around the site.
- Thumb up puts a song in your Favourites. Thumb down skips it and keeps it out of Autoplay.
- The queue is kept with your account, on every device. History lists what played, by day.
- Autoplay sits in the queue like a song: the next three, more as you skip, and it picks again by itself when your queue changes.
- On a computer the video can be made bigger or smaller, and the column follows it.
First run
- A new account starts with numbered steps: a username, the kinds you love, a few favourites found with search, a photo.
- Then rate your favourites one at a time, and your first post holds the ones you rated highest.
Library and pages
- Peltify keeps four playlists for you: Want it, Favourites, Rated and Seen it.
- Every work's page shows Peltify's own rating beside the critics', and "Be the first to rate" when nobody has.
- Songs show their year. Songs and albums in search have a play button.
The site
- The docs are rewritten for what runs today, with screenshots.
- The Privacy Policy and the Terms are up to date.
- Contact is calmer, and the updates list works.
- The site uses the app's own typefaces.
- Feedback from inside Peltify is sent as your username.
Security
- The database is no longer reachable from the open internet.
- Sign-up can no longer hold a username or an address it never proved.
Not done yet
- peltify.com runs behind staging. It gets this release when it is deployed.
